Description:
Job Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President of Social Health, the Executive Director leads strategic and operational efforts to integrate social health across lines of business, clinical settings, and community-based supports and services. This role oversees social health program design, line of business (LOB) integration, clinical integration, and the executive over the Kaiser Permanente Community Support Hub, ensuring social health strategies advance organizational goals related to health outcomes, health equity, and member experience. The Executive Director serves as the enterprise-wide leader for embedding social health initiatives within Medicaid, Medicare, Dual-eligible programs, and commercial health plans. The role drives collaboration between internal stakeholders, external partners, and care delivery teams to create a cohesive strategy for addressing social determinants of health (SDOH) and emerging health challenges such as climate and health, tobacco cessation, and firearm injury prevention.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Directs strategic vision and execution of KPs social health strategy across all lines of business
  • Oversees integration of social health initiatives into health plan product design and member experience
  • Designs and implements social health interventions integrated into clinical workflows
  • Partners with LOB leaders to tailor strategies for diverse member populations
  • Works closely with Regional VPs, Care Delivery & Medical Group Leaders, and National Teams to accelerate execution and achieve outcomes
  • Ensures system-wide strategic alignment in social health program delivery and compliance
  • Establishes and manages Social Health Shared Services, including: 
    • Program Design
    • Clinical Integration
    • LOB Integration
    • Performance Measurement
    • KP Community Support Hub Operations
  • Develops evidence-based social health programs addressing critical SDOH
  • Builds and sustains capacity for social health initiatives across business units
  • Establishes performance metrics and monitoring systems
Basic Qualifications:

Experience


  • Minimum ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare or social health programs

  • Minimum five (5) years experience with Medicaid, Medicare, or commercial health plans


Education


  • Bachelors degree in Public Health, Health Administration, or similar field required


License, Certification, Registration


  • N/A



Additional Requirements:


  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong track record of leveraging analytics for program evaluation

  • Experience working in complex organizational settings



Preferred Qualifications:


  • Masters degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or similar field preferred
