This Content Strategy Team Lead role is accountable for overseeing and delivering program and project-level content strategy experiences for both B2B and B2C with minimal supervision. This role requires advanced knowledge of digital content creation processes and standards, technical expertise to advise and influence new ways of delivering content, and experience leading people in formal or informal structures. Person will collaborate with and coordinate stakeholders across functions to drive strategic alignment, move complex initiatives forward, and propel continuous improvement efforts. May have formal or informal reporting structures, and expected to guide, coach, and mentor other team members. This role reports to the Senior Director of Content Strategy and is remote. 


Job Summary:

This technical expert individual contributor position develops, curates, and produces a variety of original written materials, in English or other languages as appropriate, and develops and executes creative strategy for large or complex initiatives from idea generation to completion in collaboration with creative leadership.

Additionally, this role ensures the creative strategy compliments and amplifies organizational initiatives by monitoring and modifying the strategy to ensure effectiveness and discussing requirements and core messages with project lead.



Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conducts or oversees business-specific projects by applying deep expertise in subject area; promoting adherence to all procedures and policies; developing work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines; determining and carrying out processes and methodologies; coordinating and delegating resources to accomplish organizational goals; partnering internally and externally to make effective business decisions; solving complex problems; escalating issues or risks as appropriate; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and evaluating recommendations made by others.

  • Develops, curates, and produces a variety of original written materials in English or other languages as appropriate for a variety of large media channels/platforms by communicating with clients to determine expectations for content; reviewing and interpreting creative and/or advertising briefs; determining type of writing most effective for specific outlets and audiences; writing clear and persuasive content; editing and proofreading content; coordinating with design to complement the copy with visual elements; ensuring optimization of all content for search engines as appropriate; and revising content based on feedback from business partners and other stakeholders.

  • Develops ideas and concepts for short and long form content by brainstorming strategies for relaying relevant messaging to target audience; developing new and unique concepts for transforming ideas into writing; creating and presenting compelling ideas to business partners and other stakeholders; collaborating with creative leadership; exploring different ideas and concepts for both the visual and verbal elements in tandem with the creative team; and presenting initial ideas to creative leadership.

  • Conducts research and provides research guidance to others in order to ensure understanding of audience, markets, and project objectives by developing an understanding of the target topic; how the topic will influence the audience; determining what makes the topic appealing to the target audience; and keeping abreast of competitors and market trends to avoid similar executions.

  • Develops and executes creative strategy for large or complex initiatives from idea generation to completion by ensuring the creative strategy complements and amplifies organizational initiatives; monitoring and modifying strategy to ensure effectiveness; collaborating with cross-functional teams; ensuring content is compliant with legal and regulatory standards; developing, maintaining, and protecting the KP brand voice; interpreting style guides and consulting stakeholders on brand execution; and articulating creative strategy while discussing requirements and core messages with project lead.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Humanities, Business, Social Science, or related field and Minimum Eight (8) years experience in communications, writing, marketing, or a directly related field. Additional equivalent work experience in a directly related field may be substituted for the degree requirement.

  • Minimum Three (3) years experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.

  • Two (2) years in health care or another heavily regulated industry (e.g., Banking).
