2025 Summer Internship Program



Location:


This internship role is scheduled to be flexible. Please be prepared to spend part of your time working remotely and part of your time working at the following address: Oakland - 1 Kaiser Plaza Oakland CA 94612 or Pleasanton - 4460 Hacienda Dr Pleasanton CA 94588



Department Description:


Our team is led by trusted strategic advisors who provide strategic organization, direction and coordination in order to reach the desired outcomes for our business partners.


The team includes several experienced project managers who support the planning, organization, execution, and management of multi-disciplinary projects that span and bridge the work of LRC. 


Intern Project(s):


Strategic Projects are informed by:
1. Chief Legal Officer - Strategic Focus Areas, Priorities, and Transformational Activities.
2. LRC Leadership in their review and analysis of enterprise - wide, transformational initiatives.


Process Optimization Projects are informed by:
1. LRC Leadership - modernization of current processes within LRC to increase effectiveness and efficiency.


Reactionary Projects are informed by:
1. The need for LRC to evaluate and inform the organization about pending health care initiatives, organizational impact of new legal and regulatory requirements, and compliance risks (i.e., guidance provided by Health Care Agencies).  
2. Our business partners in LRC involved in current legal investigations and litigations that spark enterprise-wide assessments.

Business Administration; Public Health; Healthcare Administration



Target Skills:


Our role is to support the executive sponsor and facilitate strategic conversations with our business partners in LRC along with other key organizational stakeholders in order to:


Define and document project goals, objectives, accountability, scope, and success measures.


Track progress and milestones.


Support the reporting to executive sponsors and key stakeholders who have a need to know.


Project management


Strategy development along with strategic thought partnership (connecting the work to the greater strategy) and Change Management.


Ideation, Innovation, Transformation – Facilitating conversations for new ways of working

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Contributing to a designated project or initiative to meet a KP business objective.

  • Report development and analytics.

  • Project management - planning, execution, and measurement.

  • Learning new applications needed to complete assignments or support the execution of business objectives.

  • Job shadowing in other functional areas.

  • Performing additional duties as required.

  • Pursuing a graduate degree or have completed a graduate program from an accredited university within the last year.

Additional Requirements:

  • Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3.0 GPA or above
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
