Contributes to development of physical therapy programs and strategic planning in area of specialization and enhances effectiveness and efficiency of physical therapy. Serves as consultant in area of specialized physical therapy practice. Provides specialized skills and knowledge beyond scope of staff physical therapists. Satisfies patient care needs. Performs duties of physical therapist.
- Partners with physicians to include program development and strategy of specialty physical therapy programs.
- Collaborates with physicians and other stakeholders to develop marketing and implementation plan for specialized programs.
- Provides direct patient care. Evaluates patients and documents past history and presenting complaints. Performs appropriate examination, renders follow-up treatments.
- Provides consultation and clinical supervision to physical therapy staff in area of specialization. Assists in management of patients.
- Provides education through formal inservice education to physical therapy staff and other health care professionals in area of specialization.
- Assists in development of standards of patient care within area of specialization.
- Compiles, analyzes and records data and information for programs and projects developed within area of specialization.
- Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate application of CPT-4 codes for all services provided. Maintains current knowledge of coding modifications and/or definitions.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in area of physical therapy specialty.
- Bachelors degree from Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy (CAPTE) accredited college, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
- Physical Therapist License (Hawaii) required at hire
- National Provider Identifier required at hire
- Basic Life Support required at hire from American Heart Association
- Ability to physically assist patients performing functional tasks and therapeutic exercises.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in adaptability, creativity/innovation, decision making, customer service, group presentations, influence, interpersonal relations, oral communication, problem solving, results orientation, systems thinking, teamwork and written communication.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing, spreadsheet and database PC applications.
- Taxonomy code required at time of hire / transfer.
- Program development/administration experience.
- Masters degree from Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy (CAPTE) accredited college.
