To plan, organize, direct, and evaluates rehabilitation services (e.g., PT, OT, Speech). This position has all supervisory, managerial, and administrative responsibilities including hiring, training, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating staff.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manages day-to-day clinical operations of the Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy Department taking accountability for quality management of staff and departmental operations.
- Provides a minimum 40% direct patient care including the initial evaluation, determination of the treatment program, implementation of the treatment program, following up with patient, and re-evaluations.
- Monitors and prioritizes departmental workflows.
- Is responsible for all aspects of appointment access to include oversight for the supply and demand of appointments.
- Manages leave requests and KRONOS activities.
- Manages referral queue to ensure that 80% of the members receive their appointments within 10 days from the date of their referral.
- Demonstrates skill in customer service, interpersonal communications, and team building.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develops goals and objectives, establishes and implements policies and procedures for the department as needed.
- Ensures services are in compliance with professional standards, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Interviews, hires, trains and manages all department personnel.
- Develops standards of behavioral performance and clinical competencies.
- Evaluates personnel based on established standards and competencies.
- Disciplines and implements corrective action in accordance with established personnel policies.
- Provide clinical direction to staff.
- Identifies and responds to member needs.
- Ensures ongoing professional development for self, clinical staff, support staff and student affiliates.
- Promotes loyalty and morale by creating a climate that encourages professional development, individual creativity, innovation and a high level of productivity.
- Develops, coordinates and manages the non-payroll and payroll budgets.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in clinical rehabilitation services setting required.
- Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience required.
- Bachelors degree required.
- This job requires credentials from multiple states. Credentials from the primary work state are required at hire. Additional Credentials from the secondary work state(s) are required post hire.
- Occupational Therapist License (Maryland) within 6 months of hire AND Occupational Therapist License (Virginia) within 6 months of hire AND Occupational Therapist License (District of Columbia) within 6 months of hire
OR
- Physical Therapist License (Maryland) within 6 months of hire AND Physical Therapist License (Virginia) within 6 months of hire AND Physical Therapist License (District of Columbia) within 6 months of hire
OR
- Speech Language Pathologist License (Maryland) within 6 months of hire AND Speech-Language Pathologist Certificate (District of Columbia) within 6 months of hire AND Speech-Language Pathologist License (Virginia) within 6 months of hire
OR
- Compact License: Physical Therapist within 6 months of hire
- Successfully be able to perform core competencies completely.
