Description:
Job Summary:

Under indirect supervision, receives incoming calls, pages medical center personnel on request, and maintains various records, as required.

Essential Responsibilities:

This description is for recruitment posting purposes only. It has not received full HR review and approval.
- Receives and routes incoming calls to appropriate stations.
- Pages medical center personnel records and processes request for telephone equipment repairs.
- Serves as central communication point for all in-house emergencies, i.e.: Code Red, Code Pink, Code Blue, and general disasters.
- Responds to callers inquiries following established procedures and policies.
- Performs various clerical duties such as maintaining current reference of patients location, listing of on-call personnel, and listing of beeper personnel.
- Provides general information for patients and personnel, maintains database for physician and employees work and home telephones.
- Announces appropriate and urgent messages as approved by supervisor paging systems.
- Operates Motorola paging system, CRT.
- Does pager review for repair.
- Performs other related duties, as required, such as but not limited to operate Health Phone, TTY, KPDS, oxygen alarm, elevator emergency, and monitors administrative disaster system.

  • Must be able to read, write, and clearly enunciate the English language.

  • Must be able to work in a high-volume environment.

  • Must have the ability to retain large volumes of information to conduct business efficiently.

  • Must be able to exercise independent judgment.

  • This is an on-call position that will travel between hospitals up to 75% of the time.

  • This is a 24-hour department and will be scheduled for any shift.
