2025 Summer Internship Program
Location:
This role is scheduled to be 100% remote. While remote, finalists MUST reside in one of the following states to be eligible for employment with Kaiser Permanente: CA, OR, WA, HI, CO, GA, MD, VA, CT, DC, or IL.
Department Description:
The actuarial department at Kaiser Permanente plays a crucial role in managing financial risk and ensuring the organization's financial stability. Actuaries at Kaiser Permanente are responsible for a variety of tasks, including pricing, reserving, forecasting, and regulatory compliance.
Intern Project(s):
This internship will focus on Large Group pricing for the Mid-Atlantic region. It will involve data analysis, financial modeling, and regular reporting to ensure the financial stability of Large Group health insurance plans.

Math, Statistics
Target Skills:
The ideal candidate for this internship is likely pursuing a degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel, and excellent communication skills are important for success in this role.
Completion of one actuarial exam and experience with databases are preferred but not required.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Contributing to a designated project or initiative to meet a KP business objective.
- Report development and analytics.
- Project management - planning, execution, and measurement.
- Learning new applications needed to complete assignments or support the execution of business objectives.

- Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- 3.0 GPA or above.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
