Description:
Job Summary:

Regional-based, role responsible for delivery and management of expert consulting services in areas of key organizational importance.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Establishes, implements, and maintains patient care and service standards to meet members and internal clients expectations.

  • Designs and evaluates processes to improve systems and patient care results across the continuum of care.

  • Develops, implements, and monitors policy and procedures which support the organizations goals and business objectives and ensures they are met.

  • Oversees and develops standards of care and standards of practice.

  • Ensures Assistants and staff provide the highest quality of care and are in compliance with the Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission, federal, state, and local requirements.

  • Leads large-scale process redesign/improvement efforts designed to facilitate attainment of key organizational objectives.

  • Provides leadership and expert consultation on the design, development, and implementation of process and programs related to practice areas.

  • Sets the overall direction of the practice to address key organizational issues.

  • Ensures that client and organizational needs are met consistently.

  • Collaborates with other key stakeholders to provide support to regional leadership in the pursuit and attainment of organizational goals.

  • Support will include setting priorities for strategically focused areas, identifying opportunities for improvement, and advising on specific areas of expertise.

  • Provides leadership in the development and dissemination of best practices across the region.

  • Establishes effective working relationships with peers both internal and external to KP. Fosters a customer oriented work environment with emphasis on dedication to helping customers, respect for individuals, highest standards of quality, innovation, empowerment, and teamwork by developing and implementing practices that reflect the vision of Kaiser Permanente.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience


  • Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience in both patient care and management/leadership roles required.

Education

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
  • BSN or bachelors degree in health care or related field required.
License, Certification, Registration
  • Registered Nurse License (California)
  • Basic Life Support
Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and other local, state, federal regulations.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to determine the key business issues and develop appropriate action plans from multidisciplinary perspectives.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead professionals through influence and collaboration.
  • Proficient in team building, conflict resolution, group interaction, project management, and budget management.
  • Demonstrate ability to define the strategy of and provide overall direction to a specified practice area.
  • Excellent skills in complex analytic problem solving, project management, change management, and group process.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with large scale projects or change initiatives.
  • Masters degree preferred.
