2025 Summer Internship Program
Location:
This role is scheduled to be 100% remote. While remote, finalists MUST reside in one of the following states to be eligible for employment with Kaiser Permanente: CA, OR, WA, HI, CO, GA, MD, VA, CT, DC, or IL.
Department Description:
Our team serves Kaiser's Supply Chain function, which supports the delivery of medical care to 12.5 million members across 600+ facilities and manages $15B of annual spend.
Our team's primary functions are to:
- Provide financial planning & analysis support for ongoing operations.
- Track and report costs and benefits associated with large investment projects (e.g. new IT system implementations).
- Find and drive cost saving opportunities.
- Help our Supply Chain clients achieve their goals and priorities (e.g. funding strategy for electric vehicle charging infrastructure project).
Intern Project(s):
Develop metrics and dashboard reporting to track spending on supplies across the enterprise. Define algorithms and visuals around leading indicators that alert us when results break from expected patterns. This high impact work will help KP’s regional and national leaders make better informed business decisions.
Develop automation tools to help our finance team spend more time lowering the cost of care for Kaiser Permanente’s members.
Sample assignments:
- Build automation to review expenses and trends to identify month-end accrual entries.
- Build automation to validate monthly intra-company transfers against pre-defined rules.
