Responsible for the delivery and management of consulting services and projects in areas of key organizational importance. Supports in tracking of organizational goals. Acts as a liaison, problem-solver, and negotiator to achieve resolution on member requests and appeals. Responsible for reviewing and analyzing audit related reports and providing consultation on non-compliance, focuses on delivering evidence based high quality patient care to KP Care at Home Wound, Ostomy and Continence patients.
- Leads and facilitates major improvement efforts related to Attendance, WorkPlace Safety, UBTs, Workforce Planning designed to facilitate attainment of key organizational objectives.
- Provides leadership and expert consultation on the design, development, and implementation of process and programs related to practice areas.
- Sets the overall direction of the practice to address key organizational issues.
- Staffs projects to ensure that teams are composed of individuals with appropriate skills and expertise.
- Ensures that client and organizational needs are met consistently.
- Collaborates with the union leadership and KP Leadership to provide support to regional and CSA leadership in the pursuit and attainment of organizational goals.
- Provides leadership in the development and dissemination of reports and results across regional departments.
- Fosters a customer-oriented work environment with emphasis on dedication to helping customers, respect for individuals, highest standards of quality, innovation, empowerment, and teamwork by developing and implementing policies and practices that reflect the vision of Kaiser Permanente.
- Coaches and develops employees according to their strengths; creates a structure that will promote self-directed work.
- Reviews member complaints to identify potential quality issues that should be referred to the local Quality Departments.
- Provides direct support and consultation on corrective actions developed by departments for areas of non-compliance to ensure the compliance issue(s) is adequately addressed.
- Acts as a liaison, problem-solver, and negotiator to achieve resolution on member requests and appeals.
- Participates in the development and implementation of internal audits for DMHC, CMS, NCQA, DHS, and State Programs compliance.
- Coordinates the audit process, including reviewing, analyzing, and reporting findings internally to the Director, Senior Leadership, and to KFHP quality committees.
- Assists in the development of appropriate policies relating to compliance.
- Participates in the development and implementation of necessary educational programs to ensure all appropriate parties are knowledgeable about their compliance responsibilities on an on-going basis.
- Leads, makes significant contributions, and/or provides technical leadership to high visibility projects to identify and resolve issues of strategic importance to the Standard Unit, Correspondence Center unit and organization.
- Interfaces regularly with senior management to produce timely and valuable results.
- Produces or oversees development of written materials for various peer groups and high-level audiences. Plans and facilitates meetings.
- Makes formal presentations to various high-level audiences.
- Oversees the deliverance of evidence based high quality patient care to KP Care at Home Wound, Ostomy and Continence patients.
- Provides oversight on training and education of home care clinicians on wound assessment and management to achieve positive outcomes.
- Oversee the formulary review of the wound products available with contracted supply company to ensure high-quality cost-effective products available for home care patients.
- Lead consultant for all the WON/WOCN in home care SCAL/HI region.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Minimum seven (7) years in a nursing field, five (5) of which are direct patient care.
- BSN or Bachelors degree in health related field, or four (4) years of experience in a directly related field in nursing required. High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. Graduate from accredited school of nursing required.
- Registered Nurse License (California)
- Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse Certificate
- Demonstrated ability to determine the key business issues and develop appropriate action plans from multidisciplinary perspectives.
- Demonstrated ability to lead represented and unrepresented employees through influence and collaboration.
- Proficient in team building, conflict resolution, group interaction, project management.
- Demonstrated ability to define the strategy of and provide overall direction to a specified practice area.
- Excellent skills in complex analytic problem solving, project management, change management, and group process.
- Understanding of KP operations.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
- Previous Home Health experience.
- Health care consulting and project management experience.
- Masters degree in Nursing preferred.
