Job Summary:
In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position is also responsible for leading the development of health education materials and providing training on health education and new concepts, processes, and programs related to health behavior change in the health education departments to new and current health education employees; overseeing and documenting of success and comprehension of training materials while maintaining updates of central training repository; supervising others to teach health behavior change practices, policies, and procedures for new and existing staff; overseeing, creating and organizing the learning objectives, course outlines, assessments, training plans, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, handouts, review activities and audio-visual aids for all health education workshops; and collaborating with subject matter experts and other leaders to develop health education materials for various delivery mediums, including, but not limited to print, digital, web, video, electronic medical record visit summary formats, and individual counseling guides.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Recommends developmental opportunities for others; builds collaborative, cross-functional relationships. Solicits and acts on performance feedback; provides team members with feedback; and mentors and coaches to drive performance improvement. Pursues professional growth; provides training and development to talent for growth opportunities; supports execution of performance management guidelines and expectations. Implements, adapts, and stays up to date with organizational change, challenges, feedback, best practices and processes. Fosters open dialogue, supports, mentors, engages, and motivates team members on collaboration. Delegates tasks and decisions as appropriate; provides appropriate support, guidance and scope.
- Supervises and coordinates daily activities of designated work team or unit by monitoring the execution and completion of tactical action items and work assignments; ensures all policies and procedures are followed. Aligns team efforts and standards, and measures progress in achieving results; determines and carries out processes and methodologies; resolves escalated issues as appropriate. Develops work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines; coordinates, obtains and distributes resources. Removes obstacles that impact performance; identifies and recommends improvement opportunities; influences teams to execute in alignment with operational objectives.
- Guides other groups within or outside the company by: aligning efforts with stakeholders to execute systems or region-wide change initiatives, region-wide culture change programs, and performance initiatives.
- Leads the design and development of trainings by: managing the creation of up-to-date moderately complex content (e.g., course curricula, training aids, and other supporting materials), ensuring curriculum accuracy, and providing troubleshooting as needed; planning training methods (e.g., e-learning, in-person, classroom, on-site, just-in-time support, web sessions, blended learning, and conference calls) and developing programs; supervising the implementation of training objectives for education modules, reviewing revisions of training modules and supporting materials; managing the prioritizing of short-term and long-term learning goals and objectives in alignment with business units goals; and streamlining the implementation of alternative training techniques, procedures, and/or methods while providing recommendations to improve programs.
- Assesses programs training needs by: overseeing the development of moderately complex needs assessments for their team(s).
- Assesses process improvement of trainings by: utilizing thorough processes, methodologies, and performance measures to evaluate the effectiveness of programs to continuously improve organizational performance.
- Oversees completion of projects by: developing, analyzing, and managing moderately complex program plans which include scope identification and management, schedule, inter-dependencies, and resource forecast.
- Drives the refinement of training and delivery by: organizing and implementing research of training norms and industry standards within assigned areas; and supervising research efforts in training/education programs to improve stakeholder activities and enhance personnel growth and development.
- Leads effective training delivery by: monitoring the training delivery of programs (e.g., orientation, customer service, and supervisory skills); monitoring and coaching trainers application of adult learning principles, ensuring internal processes are being adhered to, and ensuring trainers are handling any troubleshooting; managing the evaluation of training and developing next steps based on results of the application of skills, knowledge, and training objectives; gathering feedback and recommendation to senior leaders about training results; and leading as a master trainer by leading moderately complex training and coaching junior trainers and learning consultants.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
- Bachelors Degree in Education, Management, Organizational Development, Behavioral Science, or a directly related field AND minimum five (5) years of experience in training delivery, curriculum design, training development and evaluation, or a directly related field, OR Minimum eight (8) years of experience in training delivery, curriculum design, training development and evaluation, or a directly related field.
