Technical Summary:
A Product Implementation Principal should be an expert in consulting, business process analysis and development, requirements development, meeting facilitation, management of matrixed resources, independent implementation of large and complex projects, change management, developing and delivering executive communications, and working with healthcare administration functions. This role will have a strategic mindset, deep understanding of business strategy, ability to see the big picture and align projects and initiatives with the overall goals and objectives of the organization. Ideal candidate will have an expert-level critical thinking and analytical skills to assess complex situations, a strong sense of curiosity, proven expertise in operating independently in vague environment relying on flexibility, resilience, problem solving, planning, and execution. This role will engage in cross-functional collaboration with Product Management and Technical teams, functional area stakeholders, subject matter experts and external vendors. A Product Implementation Principal is a thought leader who acts as the “voice of the business”, with a strong point of view on ways to positively impact member and customer experience, and ability to expertly articulate ideas and information to wide-ranging audiences from executives to individual team members while leading projects through complex implementations. This role should have deep subject matter expertise in product development life cycle, Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies, expert-level business architecture, business process analysis, requirement development, and project management. The Product Implementation Principal will visualize the entire organizational ecosystem, ensuring that the solution architecture supports member and customer focused solutions while supporting operations and focusing on long-term efficiency.
Job Summary:
Develops product strategy for a market, product type or product line of business (LOB) in addition to managing regular ideation sessions focused on building a robust product pipeline to achieve market goals. Partners internally and externally in ideation, concept development, and overall vision of a new offering or strategic approach. Applies a deep understanding when driving performance for their respective market, product type, or product LOB, its competitors, their performance and shortcomings along with KP product performance. Brings the organization together to perform product feasibility on any initiative, product type or portfolio and defines and executes the development of the product or initiative through executive alignment and influence for implementation. Acts as the product authority to the organization, S&AM, and outside consultants to enable a high degree of sales and customer support, including marketing strategy, member experience, and customer experience. Serves as a subject matter expert and consultant for multiple markets, product type, programs, or product LOB. Reviews, provides feedback, and provides approval on business case development for complex initiatives and engaging with senior leaders for alignment. Drives the development and maintenance of their market, product type, or product LOB requirements and ensuring they meet the needs of the market, members, and KP objectives. Oversees all product implementations from simple to complex across markets, products and LOBs. Develops and delivers all product training and change management actives across their respective markets, products and LOBs focus. Leverages a deep understanding and experience of product policy, end-to-end product administration, and content area knowledge working with Underwriting, Actuarial Services, Regulatory, and Benefits.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Promotes learning in others by communicating information and providing advice to drive projects forward; builds collaborative, cross-functional relationships. Practices self-leadership; creates, evaluates, and responds to the strengths and weaknesses of self and unit or team members. Leads the adaptation to competing demands and new responsibilities; adapts to and learns from change, challenges, and feedback. Fosters open dialogue amongst team members.
- Drives the execution of multiple work streams by identifying member and operational needs; translates business strategy into actionable business requirements; develops and updates new procedures and policies. Gains cross-functional support for objectives and priorities; determines and carries out processes and methodologies; solves highly complex issues; escalates and resolves issues as appropriate; sets standards and measures progress. Develops work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines; coordinates, obtains and distributes resources. Removes obstacles that impact performance; guides performance and develops contingency plans accordingly; influences the completion of project tasks by others.
- Oversees business-case development by: reviewing, providing feedback, and providing approval on business case development for complex initiatives and engaging with senior leaders for alignment.
- Facilitates product implementation or program management by: overseeing all product implementations from simple to complex across markets, products, and LOBs.
- Oversees product portfolio feasibility and development by: bringing the organization together to perform product feasibility on any initiative, product type, or portfolio; and defining and executing the development of the product or initiative through executive alignment and influence for implementation.
- Applies product knowledge by: leveraging a deep understanding and experience of product policy, end-to-end product administration, and content area knowledge working with Underwriting, Actuarial Services, Regulatory, and Benefits.
- Manages product strategy and ideation by: developing product strategy for a market, product type, or product line of business (LOB) in addition to managing regular ideation sessions focused on building a robust product pipeline to achieve market goals; and partnering internally and externally in ideation, concept development, and overall vision of a new offering or strategic approach.
- Overseeing product training and change management by: developing and delivering all product training and change management actives across their respective markets, products, and LOBs focus.
- Facilitates team management by: managing a matrixed team for multiple markets, product, programs, or LOB.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience leading matrixed teams with or without direct reports.
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university AND minimum ten (10) years of experience in health care, product development and management, strategy development and execution, finance, sales and account management, marketing, consulting, benefits, program management, or a directly related field OR minimum fifteen (13) years of experience in health care, product development and management, strategy development and execution, finance, sales and account management, marketing, consulting, benefits, program management, or a directly related field.

- Thirteen (13) years of experience in product development and management within a relevant market segment, benefits policy development, benefit design, program management, or a directly related field.
- Master's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Strategy, Health Care Administration, or related field.
