Description:
Job Summary:

Responsible for the daily operation and instruction of students enrolled in the Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health Sciences (KPSAHS) educational programs. Ensures that proper educational requirements are met, monitors examination and classroom scheduling, provides instruction in assigned classes, problem solves, and facilitates activities related to the functioning of the allied health programs at KPSAHS.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Develops, implements, and monitors program curriculum for specified courses. Ensures that all required didactic, lab and clinical educational needs are met.

  • Monitors and evaluates the performance of program students. Provides instruction, counseling, and guidance for students.

  • Acts as liaison as required with all clinical training site instructors and ensures that educational standards are met, and records are maintained.

  • Assists in the daily operation of the designated educational program.

  • Participates in and facilitates student advising, subject matter research, and scholarly activities.

  • Substitutes for other instructors as needed across all programmatic disciplines within the school.

  • Assists as needed in the testing and interviewing of program applicants.

  • Gives recommendations for, and monitors the program budget.

  • Support programmatic accreditation; assisting with accreditation/approval renewal(s).

  • Actively participate in faculty committees.

  • Interprets the National and State standards for accreditation. Develops, assists in implementation, and monitors policies and procedures necessary for compliance with these standards.

  • Assists in the acquisition and maintenance of both national and state accreditation for the training program. Meets with the accrediting agencies to discuss program operation and development. Incorporates all necessary operational functions to comply with accreditation requirement.

  • Kaiser Permanente conducts compensation reviews of positions on a routine basis. At any time, Kaiser Permanente reserves the right to reevaluate and change job descriptions, or to change such positions from salaried to hourly pay status. Such changes are generally implemented only after notice is given to affected employees.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience


  • Minimum two (2) years of full-time experience in the professional discipline.

  • Minimum two (2) years teaching experience in a related program at the masters level of instruction.

Education

  • MA, MS or higher in counseling, psychology, education or related field from a regionally accredited college or university (i.e., WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC)).
License, Certification, Registration
  • Psychologist License (California) OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California) OR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (California) OR Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (California)
Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience as an instructor in an online and/or hybrid delivery format.
  • PhD, PsyD, or EdD in counseling, psychology, education or related field from a regionally accredited college or university (i.e., WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC)).
