Job Summary:

This role is both analytical and consultative – requiring comfort with managing multiple workstreams simultaneously, working in a fast-paced environment, adjusting to frequent changes in project direction/scope/deliverables, and being comfortable with the unknown.

1) experience developing new 5-10+ year financial models that generate ROI, IRR, cash flows, and balance sheet metrics


2) responsibility for monthly settlements and reporting


3) process management to coordinate activities and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information


KP’s renewable energy portfolio includes 112 KP facilities with solar installations and 6 utility-scale developments including wind, solar, and battery storage. This position will be responsible for all aspects of the monthly billing and settlements and quarterly reporting. There are 25+ projects closing in the next 2 years. This position serves as the key analyst reviewing project finance. Additionally, there is a significant portion of ad hoc projects, such as developing financial assumptions and such as options to buy vs. finance projects. Key near-term work is to partner with the Senior Director, VP, KP Tax, and National Facilities Services (NFS) as well as the outside vendor, to create and implement new financing structures for these projects.


The Business Development work is highly variable, depending on deal flows, readiness, and needs of the Treasury and BD teams. Work activities will range from core project management, such as coordinating the various Treasury team members to complete due diligence, to partnering with outside bankers to generate pro forma financial models and valuations. This work will be highly fluid and done in concert with the Senior Director, VP, SVP, and other KP professionals.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree in finance, business, or related field and Minimum six (6) years Financial Planning & Analysis experience, or directly related business experience. Additional equivalent work experience in a directly related field may be substituted for the degree requirement.



Preferred qualities / qualifications:


- Demonstrated proficiency with creating long-term financial models, understanding and applying financial measures (IRR, cash flow analysis), valuation methodologies, risk and sensitivity analysis


- Impeccable attention to detail and process to self-check work and identify and correct errors


- Ability to translate the big picture business objectives into detailed financial analysis, assumptions, and results; able to present financial analyses to senior leaders with the right balance of detail and importance


- Demonstrated success in highly fluid, dynamic and fast-paced environment juggling multiple projects with changing timelines


- Experience working on cross-functional projects contributing to both financial outputs and overall project outcomes


- Proficiency with working through influence and collaboration; engaging and drawing people into the shared work


- Practices self-leadership with a curious, positive attitude; developed sense of when to engage more senior staff at key points


-Interest in renewable energy and business development work and creativity to re-create


- Financial and credit analysis


- CFA or other professional certification

Two (2) years project management experience., Three (3) years experience working with advanced functions of spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel), including graphics, pivot tables, macros and/or complex formulas., Two (2) years experience developing business cases., Master's degree finance, business, or related field., FP&A Certification
