Description:
As assigned by the Business Line Manager, responsible for the operations and financial performance of optometry and of optical retail stores. Accountable for member satisfaction, eyeglass turnaround time, eyeglass redo rates (optician and optometrist controlled), Rx capture rate, Vision Services revenue, sales volume and overall profitability. Assists BLM in developing and implementing Optical Store eyewear sales strategy to meet organizational goals and business objectives.
Job Summary:
As assigned by the Business Line Manager, responsible for the operations and financial performance of optometry and of optical retail stores. Accountable for member satisfaction, eyeglass turnaround time, eyeglass redo rates (optician and optometrist controlled), Rx capture rate, Vision Services revenue, sales volume and overall profitability. Assists BLM in developing and implementing Optical Store eyewear sales strategy to meet organizational goals and business objectives.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the operational and financial performance of optometry and the optical stores as assigned by BLM.
- Accountable for member rating of stores, eyeglass turnaround time and redo rates (optician and optometrist controlled), Rx capture rate, vision services revenue, sales volume and overall profitability as assigned by BLM.
- Assists BLM in developing and implementing eyewear sales strategy to meet organizational goals and business objectives, to ensure that financial revenue and expense targets are met.
- Ensures operations are meeting the needs of the member in an efficient, timely and courteous manner.
- Assists BLM in working with the Regional Merchandising Manager to implement a merchandising strategy for the optical stores in the area.
- As authorized by BLM, may hire, coach, motivate, discipline and terminate staff, as required, to sustain effective operations and to meet member needs.
- As assigned by BLM, ensures implementation of training programs for opticians, contact lens fitters and other staff is ongoing in member service techniques and product sales.
- Develop good relationships with members, service area management, providers and others as appropriate.
- Work with Coordinating OD as assigned by BLM to ensure integration of OD, Optician and staff operations.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
- Minimum two (2) years of management experience in a retail environment.
Education
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
- N/A
Additional Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to manage change and improve performance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of optical sales management.
- Retail experience required, including familiarity with staff motivation, merchandising and store operations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Operational and capital budgeting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical office management principles and practices preferred.
- Bachelors degree in business administration or related field preferred.

Pay Range: $81300 - $105050 / year
