 Job Summary


Reporting to the Regional Chief Financial Officer of the Mid-Atlantic States (MAS) region and accountability to the ED of MD HealthChoice.  The Director of Finance, is a key leader of the Medicaid Finance and responsible for leading, managing and/or coordinating KP’s Medicaid Finance strategy, planning, regulatory relationships, financial operations, financial regulatory reporting, and related activities in Maryland. The position involves close coordination with a variety of KP regional, national, and shared service leaders and functions that support Medicaid financial operations and the services provided to beneficiaries in Maryland and for all KP regions.



Essential Responsibilities


·Reporting to the Regional Chief Financial Officer of the Mid-Atlantic States (MAS) region and accountability to the ED of MD HealthChoice. The HealthChoice CFO is responsible for the overall financial performance of the HealthChoice program.


·Providers market specific financial leadership for HealthChoice program and develops deep understanding of market strategy, capabilities, financial drives, data analytics, financial operations, and metrics.


·Provides leadership in rate setting activities.


·Develops and maintains meaningful relationship with Maryland Department of Health partners. 


·Provides overall market profit and loss (P&L) management and leadership with budgets, forecasts, financial analysis, trends, projections, and analytics.


·Responsible for financial analysis, identification of financial drives, and forecasting.


·Responsible for financial reporting to the State regulators and financial audits by the Maryland Department of Health or its designee.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Minimum four (4) years supervisory experience
  • Minimum three (3) years experience managing operational or project budgets.
  • Bachelors degree in finance, business, or related field and Minimum ten (10) years Financial Planning & Analysis experience, or directly related business experience. Additional equivalent work experience in a directly related field may be substituted for the degree requirement.

  • Three (3) years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above).
