Description:
Job Summary:

Under the direction of Facilities Maintenance Manager, provides electrical and mechanical support services necessary to maintain the safe and proper operation of Kaiser Permanentes specialized equipment/facilities on a 24-hour basis. Resolve and document all operating deficiencies of electrical/mechanical equipment and systems involved. Will utilize their expertise in these fields to support the needs of the Region and also to provide consulting and troubleshooting skills to the Maintenance Engineers in the Region as needed. Will also provide the knowledge and skills to recommend the proper equipment needed for replacement and upgrade.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Responds to and resolves emergency maintenance calls on the equipment they are responsible for.

  • Establishes and performs preventative and corrective maintenance on all electrical, mechanical equipment and building systems, maintains documentation in appropriate maintenance management software system.

  • Writes, performs and updates operating and test procedures for systems and equipment they are responsible for.

  • Maintains documentation of work performed to support systems and equipment.

  • Performs or assists in fire and safety inspections and maintains appropriate records as required in their area.

  • Checks and replenishes supplies of, maintenance and repair parts to support the equipment and systems.

  • Evaluates systems and equipment, recommends changes, additions or deletions as needed.

  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by Facilities Maintenance Manager or other management personnel as appropriate.

Education

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
  • Limited Maintenance Electrician License (Oregon) OR Limited Manufacturing Plant Electrician License - Journeyman (Oregon)
  • Drivers License (in location where applicable)
  • Universal Chlorofluorocarbons Certificate
Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to operate and maintain building automation systems a must.
  • Must be self-starter and have excellent communication skills.
  • Must pass a pre-employment skill evaluation test: both a written and practical test is given.
  • Must provide proof of experience and competency in the selected specialty field applied for.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Stationary Engineer with HVAC and refrigeration experience preferred.
