Are you passionate about empowering individuals to lead healthier lives? Join our team as a Professional Chef who will be responsible for delivering instructions on how to prepare healthy meals. The Professional Chef role is responsible for providing an exceptional experience for participants by creating a fun, interactive learning environment.
• Plan healthy menus, develop recipes, and engage class participants and with interactive preparation of dishes.
• Use natural talents of culinary education and health advocacy to engage and inspire participants to make favorite meals healthier with low fat, sugar and salt options.
• Order supplies, shop/prepare and check food items for freshness and taste.
• Facilitate classes virtually and/or in-person.
• Adjust teaching style to meet needs of class participants.
• Maintain sanitation practices and ensure that all health laws are followed, and that department and facility policies are adhered to.
• Demonstrate outstanding member centric skills. Arrives to assigned location in advance of the scheduled time to set-up and greet participants.
• Assume any other duties as assigned by the Program Leadership Team.
• Understands and contributes to Kaiser Permanente's mission, to provide high quality, affordable health care to improve the health of our members and the communities we serve.
- Two (2) years plus of professional facilitation experience.
- Two (2) years plus of computer skills
- Two (2) years plus of cooking demonstrations for large audiences
• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, culinary art, or similar area preferred.
• Associate's degree in culinary art
