Description - Fitness Instructor – On Call


Are you passionate about empowering individuals to lead healthier lives? Join our team as a Fitness instructor to demonstrate and explain how to perform various exercises and routines, minimize injuries, and improve fitness. We are seeking a dynamic individual to lead a variety of engaging health education fitness classes, both virtually and in person, aimed at promoting preventive health services and driving positive health outcomes.


In this on-call role you will:


·Lead participants in a group environment through safe effective fitness classes.


·Arrive to assigned location in advance of the scheduled time to set-up and greet participants.


·Adjust teaching style to meet needs of class participants.


·Prepare appropriate equipment, music, or handouts for each class.


·Utilize interactive teaching methods and innovative approaches to engage participants and foster behavior change.
Understands and contributes to Kaiser Permanente's mission, to provide high quality, affordable health care to improve the health of our members and the communities we serve.


·Assume any other duties as assigned by the Program Leadership Team.



Basic Qualifications:


 Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Counseling, Education, Psychology, Nursing, Nutrition or a directly related field, OR Minimum three (3) years of experience in health-related education or a directly related field.

         Certification - Certified Diabetes Educator.

         Certification - Diplomat of Lifestyle Medicine.

         Certification - Certified Lactation Consultant.

         Certification - Certified Childbirth Educator.

         One (1) year of experience in health-related education or a directly related field.

         One (1) year of experience in healthcare environment or similar environment.

One (1) year of experience teaching classes or conducting training programs.
