Description:
Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of a project manager, senior project manager, or research supervisor, assists in the implementation of a study. Performs various technical, operational & clinical functions in a specific research project or portion of a multi-site project. Study-related duties may include patient recruitment; data collection, tracking & reporting.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Assisting with the development of study materials including questionnaires, flyers, brochures and newsletters.

  • Recruiting research participants.

  • Administering informed consent documents per regulations.

  • Conducting interviews with participants including screening for eligibility and primary data collection.

  • Gathering and/or collecting data for research studies using electronic or paper methods.

  • Assuring all study data collection instruments are filled out properly and completely.

  • Coordinating communication and following-up with study participants and study-site staff via mail, email or telephone.

  • Documenting the research process for preparation of manuscripts for publication.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience


  • Minimum two (2) years of previous experience in a medical research setting or a social science research setting with patient contact.

  • Experience using computer office software for the purposes of creating participant materials, spreadsheets and database development.

  • Experience using the internet.

Education

  • Bachelors degree in science, social science, allied health science, public health or medical field.
License, Certification, Registration
  • N/A
Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience conducting scientific literature searches using electronic databases.
  • Experience in human subjects or health care research.
  • Highly organized, able to handle a wide range and varying levels of tasks and activities.
  • Ability to solve problems and work independently on sub-projects.
  • Masters degree in public health, epidemiology, or related discipline preferred.
