2025 Summer Internship Program



Location:


This role is scheduled to be 100% remote. While remote, finalists MUST reside in one of the following states to be eligible for employment with Kaiser Permanente: GA.



Department Description:


The Large Group Account Management team works with existing Kaiser Permanente (KP) commercial clients with 51-3,000 employees and public sector entities, of all sizes.  These organizations purchase Kaiser Permanente (KP) to cover their employees' and their families' medical and pharmacy needs as part of their total rewards benefit program.  Account managers are responsible for renewing these accounts each year, retaining and growing the membership.  The team works to keep clients abreast of regulatory changes, coordinates administrative needs with other departments, handles issues raised and educates the employees of the benefits of the KP coverage and in some cases persuades employees to choose KP over another vendor.  Overall, the account management team is the face of KP to the client and responsible for the account.



Intern Project(s):


Potential projects will include but are not limited to:


Develop a competitive data collection strategy to help KP Georgia increase the information we receive.
Assist account managers with gathering data for Micro Groups (a new category of accounts which may belong in small group)
Create communication plans for the 
   - Executive Employer Advisory Council, a subset of client leaders to whom KP previews new products and clinical updates and provides suggestions for KP improvement. 
   - Executive Sponsor program, launching early 2025 to provide KP executive leadership within some of the market's largest accounts.
Assist team in determining where there is opportunity to grow accounts given the data tools and information provided by KP.
Spend time with seasoned leaders and individual contributors to provide exposure to the business world and the insurance industry.

We're looking for someone who is personable, creative, curious, comfortable using Excel and an organized and thorough communicator.  This person will need to have both analytical and creative skills.




Job Summary:

The Intern will gain hands on experience within an assigned department by working in various roles on closely monitored work assignments. The scope and depth of the roles will be appropriate for the organization, and suitable for the Interns educational background, interests, and experience.



Essential Responsibilities:


  • Perform a functional team role in one or more assignments during the internship period.

  • Learn the major functions of a departmental assignment through guided hands-on work in various areas, and interaction with others.

  • Attend and actively participate in internship group meetings, discussions, and events.

  • Provide constructive feedback to the department, human resources, and school about how the Kaiser internship can be enhanced for future interns.

  • High school diploma OR General Education Development (GED) required AND presently taking higher education level courses.

  • Minimum one (1) year prior work experience in a professional environment.
  • Major closely related to department or area of internship (ex. Marketing or Communications for Sales Internships, HR for Human Resources internships, any Health occupations or Health Management, etc.).
  • Enrollment in a related four (4) year program of study or enrollment in related graduate studies.
